Home Visits in Orange County and Virtual World-wide

I have been helping women and babies breastfeed since 2012, and as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 2017. I believe in a gentle approach to breastfeeding and support women to feed their babies in whatever way they choose.

Prenatal, postpartum, virtual and home visits are available.

Continuing Education I have completed:

The Thompson Method Practitioner Program (based on 50 years of midwifery experience and the PhD research on nipple trauma by Dr. Robyn Thompson)
Jennifer Tow's IBCLC Master Class (Oral anatomy and the habilitation of the breastfeeding dyad)

Fees - Cash Pay

Initial Consultation Fee: $225 ($200 for Thompson Method Students)
Follow-up Consultation Fee: $200 ($175 for Thompson Method Students)
Email Support: 2 weeks included in current plan of care; $100 per instance thereafter; Follow up consultation required for new assessments and care plan updates
Travel Fees: **Please note that travel fees are not reimbursable by insurance. Thank you for understanding.**
- No fee up to 15 miles or 30 minutes
- 15-20 miles or beyond 30 minutes - $20
- 21-25 miles - $40
- 26-30 - $80
- Calculated from cross streets Brookhurst and Hamilton in Huntington Beach
Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Accepted payment methods: Credit/Debit Card or Cash

Insurance and Reimbursement

The Lactation Consultant does not bill insurance companies directly.
The Client is responsible for seeking reimbursement from their insurance provider.
The Consultant will provide necessary documentation for reimbursement purposes upon request.

Cancellation Policy

Appointments must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance.
Cancellations made within less than 24 hours will incur a cancellation fee of $100
No-shows will be charged the full consultation fee.

Fees** for Milkwise

Virtual/Tele-Health: No fees (must take place within the state of California)
Home visit travel fees: Same as for Cash Pay
For Blue Shield of CA PPO and Cigna there may be deductibles, copays and or coinsurance

Virtual/Tele-health: $20 fee.
Home visits:
For travel to home visits up to 15 miles or 30 minutes will incur a $20 fee
15-20 miles or longer than 30 minutes will have a $40 fee
21-25 miles an $80 fee
26-30 miles a $100 fee

I am in-network with Aetna. Please email a copy of your insurance cards (you and baby) to Melanie@peacefulbirthOC.com so I can verify your benefits.
There may be patient responsibility required after the visit
